About Therapy…

What to Expect
Our first session will be about getting to know each other and building trust. I want to hear about your goals for therapy, questions, and preferences. It will help to think about these things prior to our first session. If you don’t know where to start, that’s ok too! My intention is to create an environment that is welcoming, safe, and accessible. We can figure out what you need together.
We may also review your mental health history and other background information if pertinent. Over the first couple sessions we will build a plan together to help you achieve your goals.
I’ve written more about preparing for therapy in my blog post: Making the Most of Therapy.
Before We Meet
Once you’re signed up for our first session, I will email you my Consent and HIPAA forms. Please complete them prior to our first session. If you have any questions, please call or email me before you sign the forms.
Fees and Insurance
Therapy sessions are $185 for a 50 minute session. We can discuss sliding-scale options if needed.
At present, I am not in-network for any insurance plans. I am happy to help you with out-of-network billing.
No Surprises Act
Starting in 2022, there are new protections that prevent surprise medical bills. If you have private health insurance, these new protections ban the most common types of surprise bills. If you’re uninsured or you decide not to use your health insurance for a service, under these protections, you can often get a good faith estimate of the cost of your care up front, before your visit. To learn more about your rights under the No Surprises Act, you can visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-877-696-6775.
